Designing an Entryway: Step 3 – Finalizing Your Space

What you learned:

Choosing door and drawer front styles:

  • Click the “ALL WALLS” button on the left side of the design stage to see all your walls at once.
  • In your top menu, select “Front Styles.” In this window, you will have the option to select the color and profile of the drawer and door fronts of your design.
  • In the same window, click on the “Drawer Slides” and “Door Hinges” to choose how you would like your pull-out items to close.
  • Once you have made your selections, click “Save.”

Customizing your solution with hardware styles:

  • In the top left-hand corner, select “Hardware Styles.”
  • Click on the “Hardware Finish” and “Handle and Knob Style” tabs to personalize the look and function of your entryway hardware.
  • Once you have made your selections, click “Save.”

Colors and accessories:

  • Click through the color swatches along the left side of the design stage to see what your entryway would look like in each option.
  • To change or add accessories, click on the wall you would like to edit.
  • Click on the section within the wall you would like to edit. Once the section is glowing blue, click the “Edit” pencil below.
  • Navigate to the Design Center in the right-hand control panel to select “Accessories.”
  • Click and drag your accessory within the section to place it where you’d like.
  • Go to “3D” view to see what your design looks like with the added accessories.

Adding tops:

  • You will need to add a top to complete your bench. A top adds stability and aesthetics to your entryway design.
  • Navigate to the “Features” pencil located at the top of your screen.
  • Click the “Crown Molding & Top Shelf” tab. Then select, “Include Tops” and “Save.”
  • Now you will notice that you have a top capping your drawer bank to create a bench, as well as a decorative top above your stacked overhead cabinets.

Adding hook boards:

  • Click the section where you would like to add hook boards. Click it again for it to be highlighted blue.
  • Click the blue “Edit” pencil below.
  • Navigate over to the right-hand panel and click the “Accessories” button and find the “Hook Board.”
  • Click and drag the item to place it appropriately.
  • Repeat this process for each section that needs a hook board.
