3 Easy Solutions for Jewelry Organization
Tangled necklaces, mismatched earrings, missing rings…oh my! An organized jewelry system can be elusive when there’s so many small items to keep track of, but it’s not as difficult to accomplish as you might think. A few small tweaks to your jewelry organization can make a big difference. Whether you’re looking to keep all your items together, protect them from damage, or make them easier to find, there’s a solution for you.
- Divide and conquer. Keep matching items together by grouping them in their own compartment. By using a jewelry tray instead of digging through a jewelry dish full of earrings you’ll be able to pick out a matching pair at a glance. You can also keep sets of necklaces and bracelets grouped together for the same reason.
- Protect. Precious gems and valuable family heirlooms are best kept safe. Laying out on a dresser or kept in easy view of the whole room isn’t a good place for your grandmother’s antique diamond earrings. Instead, organize and store valuables in their own drawer where they can be easily accessed by you but still tucked away for protection. Use a drawer in a hutch or dresser like the one in the photo that’s in/near your closet so they’re still close to your wardrobe for convenience. You can even fit a lock onto your jewelry drawer for extra security if you like.
- Re-purpose. You can get creative with your jewelry organization and re-purpose items to sort and display your favorite pieces. An elegant picture frame with ribbon strung across it can become the perfect place to hang dangling earrings. A slide-out belt rack is also a great solution for hanging long necklaces so they don’t get tangled. Installed right in your closet, a belt rack allows you to pull it out so you can easily see all your necklaces and then slide it back into your closet to save space.
